স্পিকার-তথ্যমন্ত্রীর প্রকাশ্যে মতদ্বৈততা

ঢাকা, ১১ জুন (শীর্ষ নিউজ ডটকম): সংসদ ভিত্তিক টেলিভিশন চ্যানেল সংসদ বাংলাদেশ'র সমপ্রচার কার্যক্রমে সরকার ও বিরোধী দলকে সমগুরুত্ব দেয়া নিয়ে বিপরীতমুখী অবস্থান নিয়েছেন স্পিকার আব্দুল হামিদ এডভোকেট ও তথ্যমন্ত্রী আবুল কালাম আজাদ। আজ শনিবার বিকেলে সংসদ ভবনের পশ্চিম পাশের আইপিডি সম্মেলন কক্ষে সংসদ সচিবালয় ও বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনের মধ্যে সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষর অনুষ্ঠানে তাদের এ মতদ্বৈততা প্রকাশ পায়।
অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে স্পিকার আব্দুল হামিদ বলেন, এটা মনে রাখা দরকার আমি সরকার বা বিরোধী দলের নই, নিরপেক্ষ। তাই সংসদ টিভিতে বিরোধী দল ও বিরোধী দলীয় নেতা যে বক্তব্য দেন তাও আমাদের প্রচার করতে হবে। আমরা যদি বিটিভির মতো শুধু প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যই দেখাতে থাকি তবে এখানে নিরপেক্ষতা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন উঠবে। এরপর তথ্যমন্ত্রী আবুল কালাম আজাদ বলেন, মাননীয় স্পিকার যে বিষয়টি তুলেছেন তার সাথে পলিসির বিষয়টি জড়িত। সুতরাং এ ব্যাপারে আমাদের প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দিক-নির্দেশনা নেয়া উচিত। এক্ষেত্রে আপনি (স্পিকার)-আমিসহ সবাই মিলে চলুন প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে আলাপ করে দেখি তিনি কি পরামর্শ দেন। নয়তো পরবর্তীতে প্রধানমন্ত্রী প্রশ্ন তুলতে পারেন এ বিষয়ে তার সঙ্গে কেন কথা বলা হলো না। তথ্যমন্ত্রীর এ বক্তব্যের প্রেক্ষিতে স্পিকার বলেন, যেসব বিষয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে অবগত না করলেই নয় সেগুলোই আমরা তাকে জানাব। বাকিটা যদি আমরা সবাই মিলে করতে না পারি তাহলে কিভাবে হবে? সবকিছুর ব্যাপারেই প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছে যাওয়া ঠিক হবে না। এ সময় তিনি দাবি করেন, সংসদ টিভির শুরুটা প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে নিয়েই হয়েছে। এ টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় অর্থ বরাদ্দের আশ্বাসও দিয়েছেন তিনি। এরপর অবশ্য তথ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, আপনি (স্পিকার) যে মতামত দিয়েছেন সেটাই আমাদের কাছে অধিক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। তবে বিষয়টি যেহেতু এখনো প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে সেজন্যই আমি প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে পরামর্শ করার কথা বলেছি। এ সময় সংসদ বাংলাদেশ পরিচালনায় তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের পক্ষ থেকে সর্বাত্মক সহযোগিতার আশ্বাস দিয়ে তিনি আরো বলেন, আপনারা যদি সংসদ টিভির সমপ্রচার সময় বাড়াতে চান তাতেও আমার কোনো আপত্তি নেই।
এর আগে অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য দিতে গিয়ে প্রধান হুইপ উপাধ্যক্ষ আব্দুস শহীদ বলেন, অন্যান্য দেশের রাষ্ট্র্রায়ত্ত টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলগুলো যে রকম সার্বভৌম আমাদের বিটিভি সে রকম সার্বভৌম নয়। সংসদ টিভি কি প্রচার করবে সে ব্যাপারে তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের পক্ষ থেকে কোনো সেন্সরশিপ আসে কিনা তা নিয়ে শঙ্কা প্রকাশ করে তিনি এ ব্যাপারে স্পিকারের সিদ্ধান্তকেই সমর্থন করেন।
এদিকে অনুষ্ঠানে সংসদভিত্তিক টেলিভিশন চ্যানেল সংসদ বাংলাদেশ পরিচালনায় সংসদ সচিবালয় ও বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনের মধ্যে আনুষ্ঠানিক চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরিত হয়। সংসদ সচিবালয়ের পক্ষে সচিব আশফাক হামিদ ও বিটিভির পক্ষে মহাপরিচালক কাজী আবু জাফর সিদ্দিকী এ সংক্রান্ত সমঝোতা স্মারকে স্বাক্ষর করেন। এ সময় তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয়, সংসদ সচিবালয় ও বিটিভির ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
